 Community guidelines

A Window into the Future is an online International Youth Science Club at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

This is our place to dive into the wonders of the Weizmann Institute, mix and mingle, debate the big ethical questions in science, and chat openly with our members about academia and career-related life choices, to our personal hobbies and interests. All in a respectful, open-minded atmosphere, that welcomes diverse ideas and views, making this club more than just the online meetings - a vibrant community.

By agreeing to the following guidelines, you are invited to take part in a growing multicultural, multinational, and multidisciplinary young international community, a place where the passion for science is the common ground for interactions and communication, during the online meetings and the community Discord server. Your active engagement is key to shaping a club that's all about making a mark on the world.

Ground rules for our community and communication on the server:

  1. We speak kindly with one another, in a respectful manner and we do not tolerate any type of harassment, violence or bullying.
  2. We do not allow publishing content that is offensive, illegal, pornographic, or in violation of Intellectual property rights, privacy rights or proprietary rights.
  3. Reporting of any violation of sections 1-2 by community members could be by direct messaging (DM) to the coordinators, or by email to issi.admin@weizmann.ac.il .
  4. Our language of communication is English, so everyone could be a part of the correspondence. If you wish to practice another language or speak with one another in your native tongue, please do so in DMs off the server.
  5. Make sure your Discord nickname is your full name in English so the coordinators can identify you and assign you your server roles.
  6. Club members are not to modify the server by boosts or adding of bots without explicit permission in writing from the coordinators. Requests should be published publicly by members on the “general requests” forum channel.
  7. The coordinators may apply changes to the server, including removing contents, modifying or closing channels and threads opened by club members, if members are not operating according to these community guidelines.
  8. The coordinators may change the community guidelines and will send an update through the Discord server upon any change.

Those who do not follow these rules of conduct will be banned from the server and community meetings by the Davidson International Team (a.k.a the coordinators).
